SBI: Rs 60,000 Cr deposits In Just 2 Days

Three days ago, it all started on a shocking note that which seemed almost impossible earlier. Now that the old notes are becoming extinct, people across the nation are thronging at their nearest ATM to exchange old notes with new ones.

PM Modi-govt has well thought about the  process of exchanging could be very massive and asked banks to works on Saturday and Sunday too. India's biggest public sector bank State Bank of of India has witnessed a humongous deposits World 60,000 crore in just two days, as per the statement from SBI chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya.


The deposits of SBI, across India, is reported around 31,000 crore, on its first day and more 22,000 crore by Saturday afternoon. Going by the first two day trends, at SBI alone, it'd be a daunting task to imagine or estimate how big the total deposited amount in other banks would be.

Also, SBI reportedly exchanged 15,000 crore worth with old notes in two days. As part of direct cash exchange, Government has put a cap of 4000 rs per day till 24th November.
