The government's decision to the replacement of old Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes with the new legal tender, i.e., Rs.500 and Rs.2000, from 9th November has put a smile on common man face, though people facing hardships in standing queues at banks, for removal of black money but not in this Mumbai resident family.

As nonacceptance of the scrapped Rs.500 notes at the Jeevan Jyot Hospital, Govandi in Mumbai resulted the death of a newborn baby, delivered on November 9 to Jagadish and Kiran Sharma. When the couple went to this hospital and they were asked to make a part of payment. But the hospital refused when Jagadish, infant's father, tried to pay Rs.6000 in denominations of 500 and 1,000 rupee notes and thus their child died on Thursday after struggling with high fever.

"I requested them again and again, even telling them that the government has directed hospitals to accept 500 and 1000 rupee notes for a few more days but they refused to hear us out," said Jagadish Sharma. When he written a letter to the police demanding strong action against the hospital authorities, a police case was registered against Govandi doctor, who refused the treatment.
